Starbucks is everywhere!
While that cry become a rampant cliché in American pop culture, and fodder for many a late-night talk show monologue, Starbucks (NASDAQ: SBUX) often seems to be on virtually every corner of every street in metropolitan America. While exaggerated, that claim can certainly feels true sometimes -- especially when driving through most major cities.
In more realistic terms, the franchise has more than made its presence known in the United States.
There are very few incorporated cities and towns in this country that don’t have at least one Starbucks outlet. That being the case, it would seem that Starbucks has a veritable monopoly on the gourmet coffee market.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By Dan Caplinger]
Reliance Steel & Aluminum (NYSE: RS ) : up 100%
The steel industry has been struggling lately, so it's especially remarkable to see Reliance Steel having made not one but two dividend increases in the past year. With increases from $0.15 per share last May to $0.25 in August and then to $0.30 in March, Reliance is bucking the negative trends in steel. What's especially noteworthy is that the company raised its payout even after announcing more than a $750 million deal to buy Metals USA in February -- a move that might have led other companies to rein in its payouts. - [By Kelley Wright]
Reliance Steel & Aluminum (RS) is North America's largest metals service company and is looking to get even bigger. The company has increased dividends 20 times since its IPO in 1994, so its designation for outstanding dividend growth is a no-brainer.

That dynamic means that companies that can benefit from construction strength and cut costs will outperform others. For that reason, Murphy keeps Nucor (NUE) andSteel Dynamics (STLD) at Buy. He wasn’t so kind to Reliance Steel (RS), US Steel (X) and AK Steel (AKS), which were all cut, though for different reasons.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By Holly LaFon]
Despite economic and political turmoil, equity markets performed well across the board in September of 2013 and over the trailing twelve months. The September gains reversed losses in August and also resulted in positive overall quarterly performance with a number of major indexes moving further into record territory. After disturbing the markets in May and June with comments that they may taper Quantitative Easing (QE), the Fed surprised investors with an announcement that it would not reduce its asset purchases in the near-term. The announcement removed fears that a continued rise in interest rates may stall the economic recovery, as seen by the market's negative reaction to the sharp rise in the 10-year Treasury rate in August of 2013. Investors were also comforted by improving fundamentals both domestically and abroad. The Eurozone may finally be emerging from its prolonged recession and a number of economic reports in the U.S. continue to show progress. Specifically, initial unemployment claims dropped to a multiyear low early in September and the housing market continued to improve, as evidenced by prices rising 12.4 percent year-over year, which along with the stock market's strength, has created a positive wealth effect for consumers. In response to this general economic improvement, consumer confidence increased at the end of September, and the index of leading economic indicators ticked up as well, suggesting that, absent the effects of politics, the recovery in the real economy was continuing.
